TaskForce Engineering: Partnerships and Good Outcomes in Bay of Quinte
September 9, 2026
Our strength as a company – but also personally – is partnering with people. Hilary Murphy, owner of TaskForce Engineering
The industry-rich Bay of Quinte region has many companies that support the industries. One of these is TaskForce Engineering, a construction and engineering firm operating out of Belleville.
Owner Hilary Murphy believes the best way to provide support is to ensure clients are comfortable with the design and building process and confident that the final outcome will be what they want. TaskForce uses a design-build model; they partner with their client from design inception right through to final product – from sketch to reality.
Serving Industry in Bay of Quinte
TaskForce Engineering is responsible for the execution of the work as well as for the design. Once TaskForce and their client have finished the design, TaskForce undertakes the construction project using its own construction personnel, project managers, site superintendents, steel erectors, and concrete forming crews. They often contract out work to a variety of subtrades – Bay of Quinte has plenty of tradespeople to do the job.
TaskForce Engineering works within the industrial, commercial, and Institutional (ICI) sector, tackling various building projects like recreation complexes, industrial buildings, and commercial retail units. They also design and construct purpose-built buildings, having recently completed the two largest recycling facilities in North America.
Thriving in Bay of Quinte
We have based our business approach on relationships, and I think relationships in smaller centres go a long way. Hilary Murphy, owner of TaskForce Engineering
Hilary has been working in the Bay of Quinte region for a long time. She, along with her partner Ian, bought TaskForce Engineering over a decade ago from the original owners after working for them for 10 years. Hilary attributes the strength and growth of the company to the relationships they have built in Bay of Quinte. Much of her work comes through referrals or repeat customers.
The smaller centre that is Bay of Quinte has other advantages:
- Lower-cost facilities and taxes
- Easy access to efficient transportation; it’s located right between Toronto and Montreal with the significant transportation hub Highway 401 running through it
- Lower housing costs
- A good lifestyle in uncrowded communities
- Plenty of economic development support through the Quinte Economic Development Commission (QEDC)
Bay of Quinte, while small, has a large population and a ready labour force. Hilary’s experience is that people who grow up in the region want to stay; therefore, they seek employment here. Nearby Loyalist College provides industry-specific training programs. TaskForce Engineering has hired a number of Loyalist graduates.
Industries, businesses, and entrepreneurs have access to ready information, connections, and resources through the Quinte Economic Development Commission (QEDC). Please contact the QEDC team, or call +1 (613) 961-7990.
