Bay of Quinte Life

The Bay of Quinte Region offers an enviable, affordable quality of life. There is a welcoming balance of urban and rural settings with all amenities you need at your doorstep and more. Enjoy an evening out on the town or quiet walks through one of our many waterfront or conservation area trails. There’s a little something for everyone here in every season.

We created the Bay of Quinte New Resident Guide to provide helpful information for anyone moving to the region from across the globe or around the corner.

Life on the Water

The Bay of Quinte is a long, narrow bay off the north side of Lake Ontario offering sheltered waters for 4 season fun. The region is also home to the Trent River, in Quinte West and is the gateway to the 386 km Trent-Severn Waterway. Through a series of over 40 locks it connects Lake Ontario to Lake Huron.

Boating, fishing and spending time at the beach are easy ‘after work’ pursuits here in the region. With so much water access, you can leave the office and be out on the water in just minutes.

Housing & Real Estate

Bay of Quinte offers large, modern family-style homes priced much lower than Canada’s metropolises. The average price of a 3 bedroom, 2 bath family home is currently $428,000. New housing and apartment developments are currently underway all over the Bay of Quinte region.

Health Care & Hospitals

Quinte Health Care is an integrated full service system of four hospitals and partnered organizations servicing the entire Bay of Quinte region. Family practitioners, medical clinics, optometry, dentists and other specialized medicine services are offered throughout the area.
