OCE Collaborates with the QEDC to Support Start-ups and Entrepreneurship in the Bay of Quinte
December 19, 2019
Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) has been delivering industry-academic research and development as well as commercialization projects for three decades on behalf of the Government of Ontario.
OCE connects small businesses, start-ups, and entrepreneurs with the commercialization, and business support they need. Academic researchers, inventors, labs, and innovation incubators are cutting-edge, yet cost-effective and highly accessible resources that exist in the Bay of Quinte. New businesses considering the region can easily access these services through OCE, and are supported every step of the way by the Quinte Economic Development Commission (QEDC).
OCE Turns Ideas into Income for Businesses and Academia
OCE has a team of experienced and dedicated Business Development and Commercialization Managers who facilitate collaboration between the business and innovation communities. These BDC Managers are subject-matter experts and connectors located across Ontario, using their expertise to create projects and project teams that succeed in creating economic development opportunities, high-quality jobs, and enhancing Ontario’s competitiveness in the global marketplace.
Strategic partnerships are made between innovators and entrepreneurs with an idea, and academics, students and researchers with the technology, labs, and subject-matter expertise. By connecting these two groups and focusing efforts on the same project, both parties benefit. Projects create high-quality jobs, drive economic growth, and enhance Ontario’s competitiveness in the global marketplace.
