Mayor Christopher and Belleville City Council are pleased to announce the sale of more than 40 acres of fully-serviced industrial land to Vision Transportation. This progressive and innovative warehousing and logistics company already employs more than 40 people in Belleville and operates out of their existing 200,000 square foot facility on Greenleaf Court. The land purchase will allow Vision Transportation to expand their operation by building an additional 150,000 square feet (minimum) and adding an additional 10 employees on College Street East.
“The City of Belleville is pleased to be able to accommodate the aggressive growth opportunities presented by our partners Vision Transportation,” stated Mayor Taso Christopher. “Vision has been a trusted employer in our community since their initial property purchase from the City in 2007.”
Tony D’Attoma, President and Co-Founder of Vision Transportation explained some primary reasons for their choice. “The competitive cost structure and great location in Belleville have allowed us to grow our business larger than we ever anticipated. Having fully serviced ready-to-go land available made our decision to expand in Belleville an easy one.”
The real estate deal is scheduled to close at the end of August 2016, with completion of their new building scheduled for 2017. Vision Transportation is based out of Mississauga with operations in both Mississauga and Belleville, Ontario.
